We have been hosts for over 4 years and love it! Hosting visitors has become more than a hobby for us. We keep our prices affordable while we work to provide something a hotel can’t offer…. options for preparing your own food at home, living like a local in a quiet neighborhood, having someone to call if you want to know where to find a restaurant or a place to buy art. Our places vary from a small studio to a large house perfect for hosting events or having family over.
Adventure and travel have been a vital part of our life since we were 20 and backpacking our adventures. Traveling with our young family around the world to experience how other cultures live at “home”.
We have met some amazing hosts along the way that have made our travel experiences so much more personal. Travel and connecting to people that have places to offer has been a passion for me since I sold my CPA practice (with encouragement from David) and we moved the family to France. Connecting with cultures, enjoying local foods and having an open mind is the key and so many of us can do that now with ease because of Airbnb. We didn’t realize how enriched our travels would be by staying in a house off the beaten path, or a cabin in the woods, or in a home right on the beach, or in the corner of a castle!
I am a sculpture and metalsmith artist, home designer, home builder and interior designer. We have many projects going on and I’m happy to share those with you. David is a botanist and loves exploring outdoor adventures! Of course, we travel together and explore as much as possible!
I will be blogging about our adventures, the progress of our current projects and the challenges of being a host.
